Whitehead, of 16, Beach St., Bare, Morecambe, Lancs; he joined together with his brother Wilfred; the eldest brother, Reginald, served in the same regiment; their father William was the regimental band master; another brother, Halcot, served with the Royal Fusiliers; two sisters: Connie and Winifred. Wilfred was POW and died in a German hospital four days after armistice. Reginald and Halcot survived the war;
