    His two brothers also enlisted in the AIF. 3027 Pte John William Dewsnap, 10th Reinforcements, 7th Battalion, of Brighton, Vic, aged 37. He was killed in action on 29 July 1916 in France whilst serving with the 59th Battalion. Also, 4493 Lance Corporal George Peter Dewsnap, 2nd Field Company Engineers, was awarded the Military Medal (MM) on 17 December 1917.
