DCM 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to
duty. Their guns had to be man-handled
over 100 yards of soft and broken groundunder the most intense shell fire. They set
a splendid example of courage, and it was
mainly due to their example that these guns
were withdrawn, although the last gun had
to be man-handled nearly 150 yards under
heavy machine-gun and rifle fire at close
range.'
