Death
- He was wounded in the abdomen by a piece of shell during the afternoon of July 8th, 1916. He was in a bombing post in the front line at the time and was given First Aid by a stretcher bearer. He walked out to the Dressing Station apparently suffering no pain, ant was evacuated to n°17 Can CCS the following morning where an operation was performed immediately. He died the same day at 1.45 P.M., 2,5 hours after the operation.
