Forgotten Rail Line

During the First World War, the Poperinge landscape was a maze of railway tracks totalling more than 160 kilometres. Forgotten Rail Line brings this train story to life. Via the grassy slope near the visitor centre you enter a dimly lit room. The first thing you see is a six-metre long historic diorama, the starting point for a filmic train journey by artist Sven Verhaeghe and a haunting soundtrack by Poltrock.

Opens end of June 2024 - free entrance

A realisation of the Town of Poperinge, with financial support of Tourism Flanders and the European Union (BAR).
